I would assume the league tournament would happen like every Friday each week. Of course it's up to what everyone thinks about this idea However, we could still have an alternative way of becoming a champion by defeating the Elite Four.

Here's my suggestions for a format:
1. The players pick what ever Pokemon they want and do not use a character's team. 2. The first tournament would decide the first ever "PokeAv Champ". 3. All the other tournaments will be to determine a new challenger for the champion so the champion is automatically in the finals going against the current Champion. 4. The champion doesn't need to defend on the night of the tournament but must defend before the next tournament starts. 5. The champion can not change his/her team while they are the champ. That team is locked in as theirs until they are no longer the champion.
Suggested Prize Pool (PokeAv Money): Retaining as Champion: $5000 Becoming the Champion: $2500 Making it into the Finals(Challenger only): $1000 P.S. The reason retaining wins more money is an incentive to hold onto being Champ and making being the champ a bigger deal.
My last suggestion is the champion should be featured on the site's sidebar and that could also advertise the next tournament.

Now that I think about it...the only downside to this is if referees aren't online enough for this to work. Like if we are all busy for a week or something and nobody got the chance to progress...
